This Monday was very wet- not only the ground outside, but I left my car window open just a crack last night, and I ended up with a very wet car seat this morning. After another work day full of courier issues, my BFF came over and we made terrariums together- her terrarium came out better because her cake dish was about 3 times as large as mine (but you can't tell from the pictures) so she could fit much more inside, and her terrarium is easier to see through. There's something really nice about handling plants and helping them thrive. The DIY project was followed by an asian meal and then exhaustion.
I realized after I got dressed today that I wore green and purple this and last Monday. Kind of unusual coincidence if you ask me.
I love you Terrarium
ReplyDeleteI'm talking to it!
ReplyDeleteThe cake dish terrariums are awesome!! Do they have rocks or anything under the dirt and is there a trick to filling them or do you just put the top over a dirt mound?
ReplyDeleteI put a layer of broken glass that was once used as fish tank gravel (or you can use tiny stones/gravel) on the bottom, with a little bit of activated carbon on top (supposed to help it keep from smelling) then you put the dirt on top of that. The rocks underneath help with drainage. Then you just plant the plants in the dirt, water them in a bit, and put the lid on it. Easy as pie!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tips :)
